The IP-COM AC1000 is a dedicated wireless LAN controller that enables centralized configuration and monitoring of compatible IP-COM access points. It is particularly suitable for hospitality environments, student accommodation, educational institutions and office networks where multiple access points need to operate under consistent wireless policies.
The controller automatically discovers access points and can assign IP addresses, distribute SSID and radio settings, configure wireless security, manage channel selection and adjust transmission power. Administrators can set client limits, apply VLAN policies, isolate wireless clients and monitor access-point status and network traffic.
Additional features include fast Layer 2 roaming, scheduled reboots, batch firmware upgrades, AP failure notifications and traffic or client-limit alerts. The AC1000 can be deployed alongside an existing network without requiring major changes to the network topology.
