The Security Professionals SP-OT-GMM85-05LC provides a compact, hot-pluggable optical interface for Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. Designed for multimode fibre with a 50/125 µm core, it uses 850 nm optical transmission and supports the 1000BASE-SX standard.

The duplex LC connector uses two optical fibres, one for transmitting and the other for receiving data. With a maximum link distance of 550 metres, this module is suitable for short-range fibre connections in offices, server rooms, commercial buildings and local area networks.

The transceiver supports Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM), the SFF-8472 diagnostic interface and a 3.3 V power supply. It operates at temperatures from 0°C to +70°C and offers compatibility programming for selected Cisco, H3C and Huawei equipment
